A little of this, a little of that…

#87/365 Paintings
And this is what it might look like from inside the forest of flowers. I sort of want to tickle the tummy of the elephant on the right.
Project notes: These are my first experiences with collage. This past week has been full of experimentation (in the spirit of spring). I love it.

It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.
—Rainer Maria Rilke
I love the whimsy of this series – it makes me want to explore these worlds you’re showing us. This one gives me particular delight. (I can’t even figure out how it does that; maybe it’s the experimenting thing.)
Oh I love this comment Deborah. I’ve been learning the magical powers of gesso. And collage is a wonderful discovery. I had no idea I would like it this much. Thank you for interacting, commenting…
This one didn’t stand out to me at first, but I keep coming back to look at it. I love the squiggly lines in the animals. They seem very alive and also ethereal at that. Down in the foreground it looks like puddles but they also look like windows into a different world. These things don’t beat you over the head but they beckon you quietly. A soft ending to a wild month. Really fun to follow you through your journey this month.
I love this comment Will. The two portals/puddles are fish under the creek bed the horse is crossing. I really enjoyed creating this one. It was an incomplete painting sitting around for several months. Just the squiggly lines. I filled it into a scene that took me by surprise. Thank you for your comment.
