Canary Has a Thing or Two to Say to Baby Cow

#93/365 Paintings
I don’t think this cow has ever heard so much coming out of a tiny a creature. A creature under a lb. Given that he weighs quite a bit more, he’s pretty surprised by her uninhibited verbiage. Confusion is the most complex emotion he’s experienced since his birth a couple days ago. I have a feeling he’ll come to respect this bird. He’s quite colorful and more complex than he knows.
Project notes: Collage takes my breath away, and my meals. I can’t tell you how many meals I’ve burned because it’s so consuming. I didn’t think this image would come about. It’s been through several variations. Very close to the recycle pile and then by some stroke of luck it came around.
This one, I laughed. I could imagine all those things that little canary might be saying, especially if you used the wrong scraps of newspaper for her words. What if it was some kind of hyperpartisan opinion screed? What if it were some salacious gossip? Or bad news reporting from one of the New York tabloids? Maybe it’s Dear Abby and she’s giving him some good advice.
And then the meals … I could so see myself doing that. I’ve gotten engrossed in something on my computer and not heard the timer telling me to take the chicken off the grill. This seems worth it, on balance. I will volunteer to eat any overdone meal that goes into the making of magic like this. Feel free to FedEx em over.
Ha ha… or the cliche is the running tweet. Poor cow, that would be stressful indeed. Your comment made me laugh!
Yes, made me laugh too. Love the broad white stripe down the cow’s nose, signalling bafflement! (Or so I take it.)
Oh I hadn’t thought of that…but you’re right Dale about the stripe expressing bafflement. Thank you so much for your interest and comment. Delightful.
