Lené Gary: “snow angels”

Lené Gary: snow angels
one brown-eyed girl seeks one bright-eyed boy
with whom to share hot chocolate & homemade whipped cream on a starry night when snow squeaks and creeks are silent, when the moon casts long shadows of maple limbs and she stretches up trying to imitate a tree and he lies down trying to listen for the movement of mouse feet.
there’s something tunneling beneath them, something else burning above. for as dead as others claim this season to be, they know better . . .
when they return to the light of the fire inside, they’re pulling each other’s gloves off.
……………
What a seasonally way to end the week. Sweet, warm, romantic and sweet, warm and romantic!!! This is beautiful Lené, thank you!
I love this!! Wonderful!
Lené is a magical person and writer!
Sweet. The perfect way to find the season. I especially the last stanza, how warm and evocative.
Susie, I love this too. I was so excited to see Niya’s work this morning and felt honored to have my words included.
Thank you for the kind words, WM Rine. 🙂
Thanks, again, Niya.
