Wildflowers Series #1 | Abstract

#67/365 Paintings

I love wild flowers. An english garden is really something to feast your senses upon. I have several more of these coming to you this month. Given that I’ve produced one abstract painting in my life, this is quite the fish out of water experience in my Flower Crazy class. A few of my gardener friends are waiting until the end of the month to buy prints. So fun.

Have a wonderful friday.

Oh, and I created a Facebook page for this project. So if you’re interested in visiting there. I’ll be updating the page with news and paintings. Perhaps some studio photos, announcements etc. Thank you! Niya Christine Art Page.

Niya, this is fantastic. Part of it has the whimsy and some of the feel of Picasso. (I’m not a universal fan of Picasso, but some of his whimsical stuff I love a lot.) He could have wished to paint this. The color and the technique bring alive that time in Spring when life seems to burst from the ground in sudden color. And it makes the heart sing, just like those days.

(We’re a long ways away yet from those days, up here in the north country, where today’s rain is only starting to melt the thick snow cover. But one dreams ahead …)
